Metallica

I had time to play in my craft room this morning and I just had to CASE the background and card design for this card from Stephanie Fischer.  I have created the card base and tarnished foil piece and mat the same but changed the rest of the card by creating this metallic posy to match the tarnished foil background.

I made two cards, just changing the sentiment.  I did use StazOn black in this technique as I found that the Black Archival ink rubbed off.

Thank You Daisies

The Delightful Daisy Suite is just gorgeous.  As is the Stampin' Up! way everything coordinates.

I used the template that I made for a previous card to create the diagonal shape for the card top.  You can find the instructions on how to make the template here.

A piece of the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper, a stamped daisy using the Daisy Delight stamp set which was punched out using the Daisy Punch. The word Thank You was stamped on the diagonal edge using Daffodil Delight ink.

The Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon was added to the top of the card along with some of the Crushed Curry Glitter Enamel Dots.

Colorful Seasons - Thinking of You

This card layout is one that I cased from Norine at The Velvet Lemon.   Loved the layout so I remade the card using a piece of Dapper Denim ombre paper from the  Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack.  This was stamped with the leaf image from the Colorful Seasons stamp set using Versamark ink and Gold heat embossed.

Best Friend Ever

This card is perfect for that very special friend in your life, you know the one.

The Memories and More Card Pack was also use to make this card. The words 'Best' and 'Ever' were cut from one of the cards and backed onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, with the word 'Friend' being cut from Basic Black cardstock using the Lovely Words Thinlits.  I used one of the new Foil Snowflakes as a backing behind the Whisper White circle, you cannot tell that it is a snowflake and it gives a great finish behind the circle.

Birthday Candles

Changed your mind about the Memories and More Card Packs yet?

Another card using the Color Theory Memories and More Card Pack and a piece of patterned paper from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack.

The longest part of making this card was stamping the candles and cutting them out by hand.

Happy Birthday in Color Theory

Another of the cards I made using the Memories and More Card Pack.

The background card was edge with a strip of Basic Black cardstock punched with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch, giving a pop of Black that lifts the card.  The sentiment from the Birthday Banners stamp set was White heat embossed on a piece of Basic Black, this contrast with the other colors in the card also gives a lift to the card.

Color Theory Memories and More

Are you a card maker but not a scrapbooker?

Have you looked at the Memories and More Card Packs in the catalogue and thought they are just for scrapbookers?

If you answered yes to these two questions, then the Memories and More Card Packs might just change your mind.  These Card Packs are perfect for card making with the larger cards perfect for backgrounds and the small cards make great additions to the layers.

I have been playing with the Color Theory Card Pack and the Color Theory Paper Stack.  All you need is to add a few embellishments and stamped images and you have a card.

This card has used a strip of one of the large background cards.  I teamed it with a sentiment from the Birthday Banners stamp set and a daisy made using the Daisy Punch.

Over the next two weeks I will be posting other cards I have made using the Color Theory Memories and More Card Pack and the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack.

Season's Greetings

The 3rd card I made using the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper and the stamp set Snowflake Sentiments.

To make this card you need to the following pieces:

Measurements

A4 Whisper White Thick cardstock cut in half to create the card base
Designer Series Paper 10.5cm x 8cm
Gold Foil Sheet strip
Gold Foil Sheet and Whisper White cardstock for the snowflakes

Technique

Fold card base.

Stamp the 'Season's Greetings' in Versamark ink on the top of the card base.  Add Gold Embossing Powder and heat set this.

Adhere the Gold Foil Sheet strip to the DSP.  Adhere this to the card front.

Cut out the snowflakes from the Gold Foil Sheet and Whisper White cardstock. I used the dies from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits and the Trim Your Stocking Thinlits.  Layer the three different snow flakes together and add a Gold Metallic Enamel Shape for the centre.  Adhere this to the card front.

For the inside of the card stamp the card centre sentiment and the snowflake images from the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set.  This stamp set has the matching sentiments for the inside of the card as well as the great images for the card front.

Snowflakes

The 2nd card I made using the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper and the stamp set Snowflake Sentiments.

Living in Australia we do not get snowflakes at Christmas but this paper is so pretty and I would certainly love it if I received a card made using this paper.

To make this card you need to the following pieces:

Measurements

A4 Whisper White Thick cardstock cut in half to create the card base
Designer Series Paper 13.8cm x 9.5cm
Gold Foil Sheet 14.3cm x 10cm (the Scalloped Square is cut from the centre of this piece)
Whisper White cardstock for the Stitched Shaped Square.

Technique

Fold card base.

Stamp the 'Season's Greetings' in Versamark ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Add Gold Embossing Powder and heat set this.  Cut out using the largest of the Stitched Shaped Framelit Squares.

Cut out the Scalloped Square from the centre of the 14.3cm x 10cm piece of Gold Foil Sheet.  Then adhere the DSP to the Gold Foil Sheet mat, you will not see where you have cut out the centre as the DSP covers this up.  Adhere this to the card front.

Layer the squares together and adhere to the card front using dimensionals.

Year of Cheer

The new Holiday Catalogue is finally here and has some gorgeous products, and of course I want it all.  I have selected one of my favourite new patterned papers, the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper along with a new stamp set Snowflake Sentiments to create some Christmas Cards.

I cannot believe that I am thinking Christmas already!

Over the next week I will be posting three cards that I have made using these products.

This card sketch is one that I cased from Barbara Anders, different products used by the layout is the same.  I love the clean lines of the layout.

To make this card you need to the following pieces:

Measurements

A4 Whisper White Thick cardstock cut in half lengthwise to create the card base
Designer Series Paper 14.8cm x 10.5cm
Strip of Gold Foil Sheet
Scraps of Gold Foil Sheet and Whisper White cardstock for snowflakes.

Technique

Fold card base.

Stamp the 'Season's Greetings' in Versamark ink on the bottom right corner.  Add Gold Embossing Powder and heat set this.

Measure 6cm from the bottom on one side of the DSP and 6cm from the top on the other side.  This creates the diagonal cutting line, cut on the diagonal. NOTE: You will get two cards from this piece of 10.5cm x 14.8cm DSP.

Add the strip of Gold Foil Sheet to the bottom diagonal edge and adhere this to the card front.

Cut out the snowflakes from the Gold Foil Sheet and Whisper White cardstock. I used the dies from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits and the Trim Your Stocking Thinlits.  Layer the three different snowflakes together and add a Gold Metallic Enamel Shape for the centre.  Adhere this to the card front.

For the inside of the card stamp the card centre sentiment and the snowflake images from the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set.  This stamp set has the matching sentiments for the inside of the card as well as the great images for the card front.

Another Wood Textures Project

The inspiration for this project using the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper background came from Shannon Lane.   The strips of DSP give such a rustic look to the card.  It is a great way to use up the left over strips that always seem to be hanging around after making projects.

To make this card you need to the following pieces:

Measurements

A4 Crumb Cake cardstock cut in half to create the card base
Wood Textures Designer Series Paper - 1" strips
Very Vanilla cardstock 14.3cm x 10cm (for the inside)
Very Vanilla cardstock 13.8cm x 9.5cm
Very Vanilla cardstock 13.3cm x 9cm
Very Vanilla cardstock for the background medallion
Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla cardstock for the badge

Technique

Fold card base.

Adhere the strips of DSP onto the 13.3cm x 9cm piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. It does not matter if the strips hangover the edge as you cut these flush with the edge of the Very Vanilla cardstock piece.  Once all the pieces have been adhered you can mat this onto the Very Vanilla 13.8cm x 9.5cm cardstock piece and then adhere this to the card front.

Cut out the medallion using the Eastern Medallions Thinlits and Very Vanilla cardstock.  Stamp the badge image onto a piece of Crumb Cake using Basic Black Archival ink and punch out using the Best Badge Punch.  Stamp the image again on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut out the 'Journey' word and adhere this to the Crumb Cake badge piece using dimensionals.  Adhere the medallion in place, add some Linen Thread and then the Badge over this.  Add some sequins to finish.
