Stars, Stars and You're a Star!!

You know when you have and idea and you just have to try it but when you have made it you do not know what to do with it? This happened to me when I had the bright idea of making a watercolour background using Tip Top Taupe, Night of Navy and Tempting Turquoise.

I really liked the finished watercolour background, but now what do I make with it.  A troll through my stash and I rediscovered the Pictogram Punches stamp set which then got me to thinking about stars.   The Hearts and Stars Decorative Mask was the next item to be pulled out of the dark dungeon at the back of my cupboard and I then got the Stars Framelits out, added some White Craft ink and some Basic Black Archival ink and this is my finished card with just a little bit of Dazzling Details added on the large star.

The star strip was made using the Baker's Box Thinlits.  You really should have a look at what else is included in the thinlits, you may be surprised (I know I was).

Stampin' Up!

Hi everyone, sharing some projects (some new and some old) for an entry to Stampin' Up! for the opportunity to stamp projects for the OnStage display boards for the April Event.   I am going to the Sydney Event along with two of my friends.  We are flying the red-eye from Perth which lands at 6.05am, off to the event with registration opening at 7.30am (just enough time for breaky and coffee), attend the event all day and catch a flight home that night which leaves Sydney at 8.25pm.  We land back in Perth at 11.30pm.  We could catch up on some sleep coming home, but we reckon we will be too busy going through the new catalogue cover to cover.  Are we crazy or what!!  We are so looking forward to our trip.

Not sure how I will fare but if you do not enter you will not be selected right, so here goes. We have to make 3 cards, 1 scrapbooking page and 2 3D items for our entry.

The first card is a new project using the beautiful Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper, Rose Wonder stamp set and the Botanical Builder Framelits (these Framelits are one of my favourite go to items at present).

The second card I made recently using the Balloon Celebration stamp set, Balloon Bouquet Punch and the It's My Party Designer Series Paper.  This card is perfect for using up all those little strips of patterned paper that you have left over that you just cannot make yourself throw away.

The third card is one I made last December using the Going Global Stamp Set and Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack.  Just perfect for the men in our lives.

For the centre panel I stamped the background onto Kraft Cardstock, distressed the edges and then sponged Soft Suede ink. The compass was stamped twice onto Kraft Cardstock, I coloured it with Soft Suede, Marina Mist and Lost Lagoon Stampin' Write Markers.  I layered it up with dimensionals and added an Antique brad for the centre.

I really admire people that can take perfect pictures of their scrapbooking pages.  I was standing on chairs, kneeling on the floor, sitting, standing and taking pictures from all angles.  This is the best picture that I took (a bit of investigation on how others do this is needed I think).

The "Dare Devils" in my pictures are my nephews who love nothing more that to go riding on the tracks through the pine forest on their motorbikes.

My 3D items are projects that I had previously made which I just love and would like to share again.  The first one has been made using the Gift Bag Punch Board, Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper, Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Gold Foil Sheet, Gold Satin Ribbon, Botanical Builder Framelits, Triple Banner Punch and Iced Rhinestones.

My second 3D item is this gorgeous little handbag made using the It's My Party Designer Suite of products.  How perfect is this for a small gift for someone special (a friend of mine received this one).

Hope you enjoyed my projects and thank you for visiting.

Grateful Bunch Trio

Hi everyone, do you like getting good value for your purchases? Then you should check out the Grateful Bunch Stamp Set and the Blossom Bunch Punch bundle that you can get for $57.75 plus postage and handling.

I have made a trio of cards using this bundle along with the Balloon Celebration and And Many More stamps sets which I used for the sentiments.

I have used a colour scheme of Basic Black, Sahara Sand and Whisper White for all three cards.

The background for this card was made by stamping the large flower in Archival Black ink randomly over a piece of Whisper White cardstock, colouring with the Sahara Sand Stampin' Write Marker and then going over the flowers with the Clear Wink of Stella pen.  It does not show in the picture but the flowers have a beautiful shimmer.

All the small flowers were stamped with Archival Basic Black ink, coloured with the Sahara Sand Stampin' Write Marker and then Clear Wink of Stella pen added before punching out with the Blossoms Bunch Punch.

A little bit of Gold ...

Hi everyone, I am playing along with the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  The sketch actually has a circle but I have used a heart instead.

The inspiration for using the heart behind a floral image came from Amy O'Neill one of Stampin' Up Design Artisans.

I have gone with a gold and white theme for my card, it would make a great wedding card.  I did try the Gold Wink of Stella pen on the "Congrats" wooden element however I liked the natural look better.

After I finished my card I actually realised that I did not do one bit of stamping, the entire card was made using Whisper White Cardstock, Gold Foil Sheet, Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Gold Glimmer Paper, dies and punches.

This card is quick and easy to make, it only took me 15 minutes.

Rose Red Balloons

Hi everyone, the inspiration for my card today has come from a card made by Chantal De Kaste who is a member of the Stampin' Up Artisan Design Team.  Have you done the Artisan Design Team Blog Hop?  If you haven't check it out as these talent Artisans create some amazing projects.

I cased the watercolour background and the small stars, rhinestones and other embellishment ideas from Chantal.  I used Blushing Bride and Rose Red re-inkers with an aqua painter to create the watercolour background on a piece of watercolour paper.  I added a piece of Basic Black diagonal striped paper from the Neturals Designer Series Paper Stack with a Rose Red cardbase.  The balloons were stamped in Blushing Bride and Rose Red.   I off stamped the Rose Red for the solid coloured balloons.

This was a fun background to create.

Mojo Monday #434

Here I am using the Botanical Builder Framelits again, it is my go to die set at the moment when I want to create a floral spray. I have made my card for the Mojo Monday Challenge  using this sketch.

The pattern paper is from the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper pack with a colour scheme of Watermelon Wonder, Blushing Bride, Whisper White and Mossy Meadow.

The sentiment is from the stamp set "And Many More" which was stamped with Black Archival Ink and punched out using the Washi Label Punch.  Did you notice that I shortened the label?  You do this by punching the Label out and then feeding it back into the punch on one end and punching again. This is great when you want a shorter sentiment as I did in this design  A few rhinestones were added for a bit of bling to finish.

Thank you for visiting.

It's a Party because it is Your Birthday

I am playing along with the sketch challenge at the Paper Craft Crew Challenges  this week.

Sketch Challenge 181 for the Paper Craft Crew.

I have used the "It's My Party" Designer Series Paper Stack for the pattern paper on my card.  I had this pack out on my table from yesterday's project and when I saw the sketch I thought that this paper would be perfect to create my card.

The centre panel was created using the Balloon Celebration stamp set.  I stamped the dotted circle image randomly over the Whisper White cardstock using Melon Mambo, Mint Macaron and Crushed Curry.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set, stamped with Archival Black and then punched out with the Washi Label Punch.

Balloon Celebration

I recently attended a fundraiser day held by Pat Carr where we had a great time stamping and catching up with friends.  We made some terrific projects and raised funds for the Cancer Council while we where at it, what a great day.  Thank you Pat for hosting the day.

My first card is a cross between two cards that we made on the day, I have used the colours and the layout of the balloons from one card and the paper pieced strip section on the bottom from another card.  I really liked this idea of using up all those little strips of paper that you seem to have left over.

My second card is also using the same balloon layout and colours but this time I attached 2 cm strips of Designer Series Paper on the background piece.    This is another great way of using up strips of paper.  I love the colour combination of Blushing Bride/Melon Mambo, Soft Sky/Mint Macaron and So Saffron/Crushed Curry used on the balloons they just pop (no pun intended) on the Whisper White.

The patterned paper is from the "It's My Party" Designer Series Paper Stack.  This pack is one that keeps on giving, with 48 sheets of 12" x 12" with 4 pages each of 12 doubled-sided designs.  It is perfect for birthday invitations, cards, favours and decorations.

Thank you for visiting.

Blackberry Blossoms ...

Hi everyone, sharing a quick card made using the "Grateful Bunch" stamp set.  It is so quick and easy to make a pretty card using this stamp set and the matching "Blossoms Bunch" punch.

I stamped the three flowers in Blackberry Bliss ink and then applied the Clear Wink of Stella Pen. The colour from the centre of the flowers is picked up on the pen and you end up lightly colouring the petals.  The beautiful glimmer from the pen does not show up in the photo but is creates a lovely finish to the flowers.

Note:  The colour from the ink does not damage the Wink of Stella Pen, you just need to run it back and forth on a piece of scrap paper to clear the colour off the tip of the pen.

Thank you for visiting.

Flowers for Mum

Hi everyone,  I have come to the conclusion that the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies would have to be my favourite item in the Occasions Catalogue.  Sharing another project made using this beautiful die set and the matching stamp set Botanical Blooms.

I wanted a scalloped edge on the top piece and as we do not have any border punches now that do this, I used the scalloped square from the Squares Collection Framelits.  It is amazing when you have a look at the different Framelit Collections how many of them could be used to create an edging.

The top piece of Whisper White was embossed using the Softly Falling Embossing Folder (I was so happy that this was carried over from the Holiday Catalogue).  The Designer Series Paper is from the Go Wild Designers Series Paper Stack which I matted onto a piece of vellum from the Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack that is in the Sale-A-Brations Catalogue.  This I adhered to the Tip Top Taupe cardbase.  Don't forget that until the 31 March 2015 for every $90 you spend you get to choose an item from the Sale-A-Brations Catalogue for free.

Close up of the flower, the main flower was made using Pink Pirouette cardstock and the centre then sponged with Watermelon Wonder.  The small flowers were made using Watermelon Wonder cardstock and Tip Top Taupe cardstock.  The leaves were cut from Mossy Meadow and Old Olive cardstock. The Old Olive leaf was stamped with the matching stamp from the Botanical Blooms stamp set with Old Olive ink. Metallic Silver Thread was added to the back of the flowers with silver sequins and Rhinestones added for a bit of bling.  The centre of the large flower is an Iced Rhinestone.

The sentiment is from the And Many More stamp set, stamped in Watermelon Wonder ink on Whisper White and punched out using the Word Window Punch.  This was matted onto a Tip Top Taupe Washi Label Punch piece.

If you are interested in placing an order please contact me here.  Don't for get that for every $90 you get an item free from the Sale-A-Brations Catalogue.

Shine On

It Shines, the new Shine on Specialty Designer Series Paper is printed on kraft paper with silver foil designs on one side, so it has a beautiful shine.

It is perfect for making gift packaging which is how I have used this paper designing a little triangle box perfect for chocolates and lollies (candy or sweets for those not in Australia).

I used the non shine side, as I wanted the Watermelon Wonder print side on the outside of my box to match the beautiful Watermelon Wonder 1" Stitched Satin Ribbon I have used for the bow that holds the box together.

I coordinated the flower in Watermelon Wonder and Old Olive, made using the Friends and Flowers stamp set and the matching Festive Flower Builder Punch.  An Iced Rhinestone was added to the centre of the flower to finish.

These little boxes are so easy to make, cut a piece of card stock in half to create an A5 piece of card.

Score at the centre of the piece of card in the portrait position.  Then find the centre across the top and the bottom (mark these points with a small pencil mark). Score from these marks to the centre score line on the diagonal (as shown in the picture above, you will have to excuse my drawing skills as I was slightly out in my diagram but you get the drift).  Fold and burnish all the score lines and fold up into the triangle box shape.  Take the 1/4" handheld circle punch and with the triangle sides together punch a small hole through both layers on each side, thread the ribbon through and tie into a bow to close the box.  You can decorate these little boxes anyway you like, I made some last year for Christmas so they can suit any occasion, I am thinking maybe Easter this year.

Thank you for visting.
