Sale-a-bration Sneak Peaks

Hi everyone, it being so hot here in Perth today, 40.4C, I did not venture out of the air conditioning so I sat and played at my craft table.

These are two cards I made using some of my Sale-a-bration Goodies that arrived on Friday.

Love U

The challenge this week at Freshly Made Sketches is based on this terrific sketch by Narelle.

I have made my card using some of my Sale-a-bration goodies that arrived on Friday.  I just love the DSP and decided to use it on my card for a Sneak Peak for everyone.

He's making a list and checking it twice... Hope you're nice

The challenge this week at Just Add Ink is "Just Add - Santa".

One of my favourite stamps lately is "Santa's List".  I love the versatility of the stamp, you can antique Santa or give him a clean look.  I decided to go a bit on the antique side for this card, using Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Naturals White cardstock along with the Season of Style DSP Paper Pack and an Old Olive Simply Styled embellishment.

Pals Paper Arts - Secret Garden

The challenge this week at Pals Paper Arts is to create a papercraft project using the colours of Elegant Eggplant, Smoky Slate and Very Vanilla.

For my card I have used the stamp sets "Secret Garden" and "Itty Bitty Banners" along with the co-ordinating Framelits.  The embossing folder used is Stylish Stripes, put through the Bigshot twice to give the cross hatched effect.  The DSP is from the Regals Paper Stack and the Eastern Elegance  Paper Pack.  To finish the card of I have used three silver (the closest I could get to Smoky Slate) Glimmer Brads.

Dominoes

This is my card for the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches this week, based on this sketch by the "Clean Team".
I had a go at making some dominoes using Naturals White Cardstock and Candy Dots for something different for a masculine card.  I cut the Naturals White Cardstock 7/8" wide by 1 3/4" long, drew a line in the centre with the Basic Black  Stampin' Write Marker and added the Basic Black Candy Dots.  I ran the Basic Black Ink Pad around the sides of the dominoes to finish them off.

The background was made using the stamp sets "Gorgeous Grunge" and "Off the Grid".  The sentiment is from the "Teeny Tiny Sentiments" stamp set, one of my favourite go to stamp sets for sentiments.

Deconstructed Sketch

I know that I have not blogged for a while, but I got a real surprise when I realised that it was 2 months.  Time flies when you are having fun.  I have been creating in my blogging absence, scrapbooking a creating mini albums, just not card making to post on-line.

Anyway, I felt like creating some cards today and this is what I made for the challenge at the Deconstructed Sketch based on this great sketch.

Deconstructed Sketch No. 129

I have used the stamp sets "Santa's List" and "Petite Pairs" along with Crumb Cake cardstock and Cherry Cobbler DSP from the Regals DSP Stack.  I coloured Santa in with Stampin' Write Markers, Ink Pads and Blender Pen.

Santa's List

I made this card for my shoebox swap for a recent get together with our  Stampin' Up group. We had a great day at Ngaire's with lots of laughter, chatting and eating.  I love these days, as we get to catch up with everyone and we can share our creativity and ideas.   I always come home with a some great ideas.

My card was designed around the recent post on Splitcoaststampers for the Modified Tri Shutter Card.  I used the stamps sets Santa's List and Very Merry Tags with the DSP from the Season of Style paper stack.

Beautiful Butterflies

The challenge this week at the Deconstructed Sketch is based on this terrific sketch

I used the Faux Patina technique that I found on Splitcoast Stampers for my background with a colour scheme of Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana and Early Espresso.

I cased the idea of the butterflies on the tag from Pat Carr.  At a recent shoebox card swap get together  Pat used this element on her card and I liked it so much I copied for an element on my card.

One for the boys...

I have been playing around with the new Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Chevron Border Punch to create geometrical shapes for a card for the boys.

This is what I came up with using a colour scheme of Basic Black, Soft Suede and Naturals Ivory.

Flower Shop

I have been playing with the "Flower Shop" stamp set and matching punch for my card class today.  I have made three completely different cards, to show the versatility of the stamp set.  I have also used a constant theme of embossing on Vellum.

Finally A Day ...

I have gone bright for my card for the Mojo Monday Challenge this week.  I do not do bright very often, but with the new Gingham Garden DSP from Stampin' Up in my stash I could not resist.

The challenge this week is based on this terrific sketch by Julee.

I have used stamp sets "That's the Ticket" and "Really Good Greetings", with a colour scheme in the Gingham Garden DSP of Night of Navy, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz and Whisper White.

Deconstructed Sketch #108

With the release of the new Stampin' Up catalogue there are some new exciting colours, stamp sets, punches and DSP that are now available.

On my card for The Deconstructed Sketch challenge this week I have used the stamp set "Label Love" with the co-ordinating Artisan Label punch, Soho Subway DSP and two of the new 2013-14 In-colours Baked Brown Sugar and Crisp Cantaloupe.

The challenge this week is based on this great sketch by Joni Wilson.

The flowers on my card were made using the Floral Fusion die and Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock with the background piece made by inking up the Square Lattice embossing folder with Baked Brown Sugar ink and running a piece of Naturals White cardstock in the embossing folder through the Bigshot.  I love the finished effect it creates.

Tea Lace Doily Fan

I have been playing around today making little flowers and folding the Tea Lace Doilies various ways to see how I could use them on my cards.  My card is designed around the fan I made using the doily, little flowers and pearls.  The tassel was made from the white bakers twine.

Colour scheme of Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe and Naturals White.

Handmade Flowers ...

Just a quick post today for the challenge at the Deconstructed Sketch based on this great sketch.

Deconstructed Sketch 105

I have been playing around making flowers using one of the new In-colours for 2013-15, Baked Brown Sugar and an old favourite Naturals Ivory along with the 7/8" scallop circle punch and the Blossom Party Originals Die.  Naturally I just had to create something with them, so I decided to use them on my card to create a little flower posy.

The second card I made for the fun of it.

Some Sneak Peaks ...

It was like Christmas in my house on Friday, my Stampin' Up pre-order arrived.  Naturally I had to play and I created my first card using one of the new 2013-15 In-colours, Baked Brown Sugar.  I used the Music Note Stampin' Wheel and die cut the word birthday in Basic Black.  The background piece was embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and the edging was made using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch.

Having made my first card, this got me to thinking about the rest of the 2013-15 In-colours and designing some cards for a Catalogue Launch workshop.  So I made another card using the other In-colours of Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush and Baked Brown Sugar.

My final card is also for the new Catalogue Launch Workshop, using all the 2013-15 In-colours as well as the new "Mosaic Madness" stamp set with the matching Mosaic punch.  The other stamp sets used are "Fabulous Phrases" and "Simply Serif Alphabet".

Sahara Sand ...

In a recent edition of Australian Cardmaking Stamping & Papercraft there were a series of 10 Quick Cards made by Julie Dudley show casing the Stampin' Up Decorative Labels Punch.

Julie's cards were made with non Stampin' Up DSP and cardstock, however I really liked what Julie had done with the Decorative Label punch in the design of her cards so I put my spin on it and created these three cards.

On two of the cards I stamped the Very Vintage and Music Notes Stampin' Wheel using Sahara Sand ink on Naturals White cardstock.  For the other card I stamped the Music Notes Stampin' Wheel and the Leaf/Branch stamp from the Summer Silhouettes stamp set using Sahara Sand ink on Naturals White cardstock.  I did stamp off some of the ink to give the stamped image a muted tone.

The DSP is Sahara Sand from the Neutrals Paper Stack with the little flowers made using the 7/8" scallop punch.  I punched out 5 scallop circles, misted them with water, layered them together and put a hole through the centre and using a brad joined together.  The layers were then lightly scrunched up towards the middle and then teased out until you are happy with the shape of your flower.

Once dry the flowers are used to create the posy on the Decorative Labels punched out piece.  The leaves were made using Old Olive ink and the Stippled Blossoms stamp set.  Sentiments are from the Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set and the matching Bitty Banners Framelits.  A linen thread with a neutrals button added to finish the card.  All the edges of the cardstock and DSP have been inked with Sahara Sand.

It's a Pink Birthday ....

The challenge this week at Mojo Monday is based on this great sketch created by Julee.  The challenge is to create a round or square card using the sketch.

I decided to make a square card using a colour scheme of Crumb Cake, Primrose Petals and Whisper White.  The stamp sets I have used are "Stippled Blossoms", "Clockworks" and "Itty Bitty Banners"

Artisan Love

I recently saw a picture in a Kaisercraft magazine of a heart shaped card.  I had a play around and worked out how to construct the card using the Hearts Collection Framelits.  This is my card I made.

The DPS is from the "More Amore" and the "2013-14 In-colours" Paper Packs and the embellishments are from the "Artisan Embellishment Kit".  The card folds down and fits in a 150cm x 150cm square envelope.

Side view showing how the card is constructed.

Embossing, Diecuts and More ....

On Sunday I was playing around with different effects using dry embossing, diecuts, a bit of ink, a few flowers and many layers.

These are the two cards I made.  They have a vintage feel, with the colour scheme of Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.

Everything Eleanor

This post are the cards I made, casing a similar card by Kittie Caracciolo .   I liked Kittie's card so much I made two.

Colour scheme is Raspberry Ripple, Naturals White and Always Artichoke.   I stamped the flourish from the "Everything Eleanor" stamp set with Versamark onto the Raspberry Ripple cardstock.  This was then adhered to the Naturals White card base.   The centre pieced was edged with the Finishing Touches Edgelit, with ribbon and pearls added.  I stamped the flowers onto the Naturals White cardstock in Raspberry Ripple ink and cut them out, before adhering to the card along with the leaves made using the Little Leaves Sizzlit.  The sentiment is from the "Teeny Tiny Sentiments" stamp set punch out with the Word Window punch.

Faux Postage

I have been playing around with the Faux Postage technique using the "Postage Due" stamp set along with the Postage Stamp punch and also making my background paper with sponging, spritzing and stamping.

The first card is one I made for the Mojo Monday Challenge based on this great sketch by Carole.

The sketch had four panels at the top, but I could only fit three on my card.  I used the postage stamps in the "Postage Due" stamps set for two of the postage stamps, but made the stamp with the sentiment on it using the Faux Postage techinque.  The sentiment is from the "Petite Pairs" stamp set.

The background on the top of the card was made using the Square Lattice embossing folder, inked up with Crumb Cake ink and put through the big shot.  I gives a great finish which went perfectly with the vintage style of the card.  The bottom panel I also made using the technique as detailed on Card 2.

The second card is one I made for the challenge at Just Add Ink which was to create our own fun background.

I started off with a piece of Naturals Ivory cardstock and I sponged on Early Espresso, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake ink.  I then misted it with water and blotted off the excess water, this had the effect of blending the colours slightly. Once this was dry (I cheated and used the heat gun as I am so impatient) I then cut out a doily using the Paper Doily Sizzlit for a template, which I then put over the piece and spritz over with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.  This gave a lovely shimmery finish to the piece. which has not shown up very well in the photo.  I then stamped over the top of this with the large stamp from the "Postage Due" stamp set using Soft Suede ink.

The Faux Postage stamps were made using Natural Ivory cardstock, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede ink, 1" Square Punch, Postage Stamp Punch and a piece of Word Window Sheet for the 1" square mask.   The butterfly is from the "Kindness Matters" stamp set and the sentiment is from the "Petite Pairs" stamp set..

The final card is one I made using up all my left over bits and the "Hearts a Flutter" stamp set.  All cards were finished with Victoria Crochet Trim, Linen Thread, Antique Brads and Flower Trim.
